Our film is a thriller film about a drunk male so we did not have a huge script to create.
As the man walks up the stairs he enter the door to his bedroom to find his wife laying in bed next to another man, suggesting she has been cheating.
*Drunk Male to other man*
"Get Out!"
*Drunk Male to Cheating Wife*
"Get Up, Now! Get Here"
As this was the only script we needed it helped us make the film better by being able to concentrate on the other aspects such as the acting and the setting.

Task 4: The Pitch
Before we could make our film we had to think up 2 ideas. We did this so that each person in our group could have an input into the film. Also, if one person created an idea with a good story line but another person had some good ideas that we could incorporate both of the films into one.
Pitch One:
The idea of this first pitch was for the main character to get a phone call which tells him a mobster is holding somebody hostage who is feels close to. The main character is told of the place where he needs to get to to save the hostage, however, on the way to this place in comes in to contact with mobsters who's task is to take him down before he gets to his destination. When he gets there you hear an off screen gun shot which tell the audience something has happened to the girl.
Pitch Two:
The second idea we had was for a the main character to start off, stumbling into a room and climbing some stairs. The reason he was stumbling was that he was drunk. Eventually he gets to the top of the stairs and open the door to his bedroom and finds his wife lying in bed with another man which would suggest sexual activities. He falls into the room and tells the man to "GET OUT"!, as the man picks up his shoes and scrambles across the bed. The main character then will drunkenly address his wife and tells her to "GET UP"!, she does. He then advances on her and swings a punch at her. Just as he is about to hit her, the shot blacks out and the credits roll.

Questionnaire Summary
After creating my questionnaire for Task Three: Primary Research i decided to hand it out to my peers. I created 10 Questions ranging from age, to what they like most about films. This is what i found...
All The people i questioned were between the ages of 15-21 so i had a good age range in the sense that all people could watch 15 rated films and some could watch 18 rated films.
I had asked 4 males, and 4 females
From the following; Romantic Comedies, Thrillers and Horrors; 2 People Preferred Rom-Coms 5 people chose Thrillers and 1 Person chose Horrors.
People like Rom Coms because they liked laughter, Thrillers because they liked suspense and Horrors because of the gore and blood.
The most popular thriller film was Se7en, Rom com was Love Actually and Horror was Red Dragon
All of my peers watched at least a few films a month with most watching at least one a week.
The thing that attracted people to films most was; The Actors and the prequels.
All of my peers liked a twist at the end of the film.
The thing that most of my peers disliked about films is the repetitiveness and the ability to guess the ending because they have seen so many films with the same setup.
To summarise my findings, I have realised that the best opening of a film would be to create a thriller with a lot of suspense. It will need to fall into the 15 age category so I will look on the BBFC website for more information on how to do that. It will need to have a completely new idea so it is not repetitive and people can guess what will happen next. If I can meet all of the criteria I have stated here then I feel that me and my group will create a very good opening to a thriller.

Christian Metz' Model of Genre Development
As some extra work into Task Two: Research of Genres, i decided to explore Metz's genre development and this is what i found.
In Christian Metz's book, "Language and Cinema" (1974) he explored genres and hypothesised that all genres pass through 4 phases of existence.
1. The Experimental- Early films which explored themes.
2. The Classic - Established all conventions of the genre
3. The Parody- When the genre has been mimicked in some way
4. The Deconstruction - Films which have mixed genres to make sub genres E.G. Romance and Comedy mixed to create Romantic Comedies or Rom-Com's.
I will now take the horror genre and see if I can find a film that fits into each of Metz's phases of existence.
For the experimental, films such as; Nosferatu, The Cabinet of DR. Caligari, Dracula and Frankenstein all fit the criteria.
For the Classic, films such as; Dracula and Frankenstein can be used.
For the Parody, films such as; Carry on screaming, Scary Movie and Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein would fit.
For the Deconstruction, films such as; Scream, Sixth sense, The Blair witch project and Se7en would be good examples.
To conclude this i have found that Metz's idea of 4 phases of existence is correct for certain genres.
