Red Dragon
Mise en Scene
Starts at an opera house/theatre with an orchestra playing whilst the crowd sit watching. One of the players seems to play some notes out of tune. One of the audience (white man in a nice suit which shows he is upper class) notices the man playing out of tune and winces when it happens.
Next scene is in the upper class mans' (Dr Hannibal Lecter) House. A group of people sit round the table whilst Lecter serves them wine and a fine dinner whilst he quotes lines from famous people. When asked what the fine meal they are eating is, Lecter says "If i told you... I am afraid you wouldn't even try it" After the people leave Lecter starts to clear the room of dirty plates and glasses. There is a knock at the door and Lecter opens it and invites his guest in.
After talking, Lecter goes to get the mans coat and the man decides to 'snoop' around Lecters' study. He finds that Lecter has been cannibalising people. The two start to fight and Lecter is shot numerous times but does not die. This scene leads us into the title scene. The writing for the names is Red and White alternatively. Red writing would be the signifier of blood and death whilst white would signify good and pure.
